After missing out on WordCamp Kent last year, I didn’t want to miss another opportunity to check it out, see some amazing speakers, and make new friends.
WordCamp Kent 2017 is located at the Kent State University Conference Center in downtown Kent and runs this Saturday and Sunday (June 24 & 25). Having lived in the area, I’m familiar with the location and have many fond memories of being on campus and around town, so I am looking forward to seeing how much the city has changed over the years since my last visit.
There is an impressive lineup of speakers this year, and I was pleased to recognize several of the names on the list.
I already have a solid idea of what sessions I’m planning to attend for the entirety of the conference. Most of my choices were pretty straightforward, but I did have to make a hard decision between a couple of talks.

There are quite a few options for lunch with the venue being downtown. I haven’t decided if I want to go somewhere familiar or try out something new.
This conference is my first WordCamp, ever! (I know, right?) I’m excited to meet the people I have gotten know online, and I am looking forward to networking opportunities, talking code, potential new projects, sharing ideas, and learning some cool new things in the process.
So if you happen to see me on campus, please say hello or drop me a tweet and let’s hang out or grab lunch!
