I’m pleased to announce that, as of this week, I will stepping away from my freelance consultancy and officially joining NutritionFacts.org as their Chief Technology Officer.
What is NutritionFacts.org?
We are a 501(c)3 focused on bringing the latest in nutritional advances to the public in easy-to-understand, “bite-sized” videos and daily blogs.
Who would want to use NutritionFacts.org?
There are diets proven—to not only prevent and treat—but reverse heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure. Yet doctors get very little (if any) formal nutrition training in medical school, graduating without some of the most powerful tools available to stop the chronic diseases that remain our leading causes of death and disability.
NutritionFacts.org is for individuals and doctors wanting to learn how to make informed, science-based dietary decisions for themselves, their patients, and their families. It allows them to bypass the deluge of conflicting, and sometimes, misleading nutritional advice that exists almost everywhere. On NutritionFacts.org you receive the latest in peer-reviewed nutrition and health research, presented in a way that is easy to understand.
Where am I located?
I’m still working remotely!
So what am I doing now?
As the Chief Technology Officer, I assure the successful execution of the company mission through development, deployment, and management of NutritionFacts.org’s presence. This requires envisioning our service offerings as a web-based nonprofit organization, leading implementation of the NutritionFacts.org platform, and planning for risk and growth. It’s a mixture of everything I’ve been doing as a web developer and consultant for NutritionFacts.org during the past three years and then some!
About the NutritionFacts.org Team
We are eight strong (not including our researchers) and lead by physician, CEO, and founder Michael Greger, M.D. FACLM.
NutritionFacts.org is managed remotely across multiple time zones and individual team member’s home offices. We are a labor of love and wouldn’t be where we are now without the help of our dedicated volunteers and supporters who are integral to our continued success.
So what I am most excited about?
I’m excited to continue to help build and grow a product that is helping to educate people on making healthier dietary decisions. It is awe-inspiring to read the transformational stories of our users living healthier lives by losing weight, lowering their heart disease and diabetes risks, and even diminishing the need for prescription drugs just by improving their dietary choices. Being full-time will also allow me to dedicate my full attention and expertise to NutritionFacts.org in a way I wasn’t able to contractually with juggling multiple projects as a freelance consultant.
Thank you to everyone, especially my family, for the support that has brought me to this moment. I hope to continue to foster your belief in me each and every day, giving back as much as I can in return!
